Spiderman - Back in Black!?!
A new publicity shot for Spider-man 3 has been released today. As you can see, it shows our beloved hero in a BLACK costume! Or is it…
Everywhere I look, people are raving on about how this could be the introduction on Venom - one of Spidey’s best known villians, however, i’m a bit more dubious. I personally think that this is a publicity stunt.
Firstly, if you look at the picture, the outfit could well be blue and red as standard, just with dark lighting. This would help to convey that this film is going to be dark, perhaps with the death of one of Peter’s love interests?!
On top of this, Sam Raimi has always said that he has a dislike for the Venom character, and we already know that the Sandman is going to be in this film. In the previous two films, only one villian has been focussed on - why would they change the format, when it clearly works, for the third? And if you don’t like a character, you’re hardly gonna put them in a film are you…

Either way, I’ll be looking forward to the film!

Awesome poster. I agree that it’s probablly just spiderman with dark lighting. I do hope venom makes an appearence in the new movie as there is a ton of potential for anything involving him. I’m not too hot on sandman as the main bad guy but definately a combination of the two would be great.

To be honest, i dont think venom will be making an appearance. We must remember that at the end of 2, there was a massive set up for the Green Goblin/Hobgoblin return, so i think he’ll feature, along with Sandman - do they really need any more!?

Well Andy, its been a while. Just thought i’d check out your site and see what you were up to these days.
Regards to the poster it is awesome and in fact is a black suit which will appear in the third installment (check out the new teaser at apple.com).
As for Venom who knows, having watched the trailer the embiote is definately in it as is Eddie Brock but whether Venom will make a physical appearance is yet to be seen. I’m thinking its going to be one of those end of film twists when Eddie finds it and it fuses with him. They’ve green lit a total of 7 spiderman films so anything is possible.
The sandman affects are looking extremely impressive considering there is still a year to go and the Green goblins back.
Three words.
Bring it On!!!

Yep, i def think you’re right - think this film will be Sandman and GG, and we’ll see proper venom at the end.
Cant wait!
In the meantime, i’ll have to cope with Superman and Ghost Rider
